I have always loved travel and adventure and rainbows. And unicorns. How corny is that? I guess I have always been a nerd at heart. I still remember how self-conscious I was as a teenager, worried about how I looked and what my friends thought, and I am grateful that I no longer spend time worrying about such things. NOW, I spend time with my friends and family, thankful for all of them, even when my mother drives me crazy. Love you, Mom! I like to go for long walks with Hailey (my dog) and I really love paddleboarding on our beautiful lake. I guess I just like to be outside. . . It took me a long time to realize that the most important things in life are to be kind to others, to always do the best you can (even if it is just raking leaves or doing the dishes,) and to be grateful for all that you have, without always wishing for more. A beautiful sunset or a really good pizza can bring so much joy! In my books, I want to share the joy I find in the world around me with others, especially teenagers. Everybody should know they are not alone, that everybody (well, almost everybody) gets sad, confused, and super embarrassed when they do stupid things or make mistakes. Learn from it and move on. There are so many wonderful things around you! Don’t dwell on the negative. I wrote three books in the Talking Series, and I think I finally found my voice in my fourth book, Erin and the Prayer Wheel in the Land of the Thunder Dragon. This book has a bit of fantasy, a bit of adventure, a bit of travel, and still carries my tag line from the Talking series: it is a young adult story about history, mystery, friendship and more. . . Keep on reading!!! The world is yours.
