Jane Harrington teaches wordcraft at Washington & Lee University and is a fellow at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA). Her short stories, novellas, essays, and works of lyric prose have appeared in a wide range of journals and anthologies, including Chautauqua, Anthology of Appalachian Writers, Eastern Iowa Review, Big Fiction, Feminine Collective, and Mountains Piled Upon Mountains: Appalachian Nature Writing in the Anthropocene (West Virginia UP 2019). Her debut novel, In Circling Flight, was the winner of the Brighthorse Prize and was published in 2022. Jane has also written best-selling books for the youth market (Scholastic, Lerner) and is a longtime member of the Authors Guild of New York and the Children’s Book Guild of Washington DC.
