Jan Unfried lives in Bakersfield, CA, with her husband of forty-five years. They have raised three boys, and now have nine grandchildren. She is a recently retired teacher and administrator of over 40 years. She currently is enjoying spending time with her grandkids, traveling with her husband, and supervising candidates in the credentialing program for Point Loma Nazarene University. In January, 2018, God placed the seed thought of writing a book about people who meet over coffee and watch God show up. The idea spread and grew, and she has been privileged to interview many people with wonderful stories to share! Jan loves to sit with people over a cup of coffee and a listening ear. As the coffee is drained, the heart is filled with how God continues to work in and through His servants. These amazing stories are now shared with the readers through the Coffee Shop Chronicles Series. Her prayer is that God's love and His Word will be placed in the right hands at the right time through each book, whether used as a devotional study or as a quick-read. Her recent project takes you through her journey of grief after losing their middle son to the fentanyl epidemic. Even through this tragedy, God has shown up for her and her family members, and she wants you to know He will show up for you as well. Jan loves speaking to groups about the hope we have in our Lord and Savior. We all have stories to share, whether in a book or with a friend over coffee. God is the author and we are His pages. When we hand the pen over to Him, He creates new purpose and strength in our daily walk with Him.
