Jan Solwyn served for fifteen years as a federal police officer, including seven years with the Specialized Company for International Operations. In 2024, he voluntarily left the service and has since been living in Israel. His literary debut, At the Border, was published by Heyne Verlag (Penguin Random House) in March 2025 and remained on Der Spiegel’s bestseller list for several weeks. Drawing on extensive operational and tactical experience both in Germany and abroad, he is now a sought-after expert on security and migration policy. At the initiative of the renowned political scientist Prof. Dr. Tilman Mayer, his master’s thesis on the historical causes of the Russo-Ukrainian conflict was selected for Springer VS’s BestMasters series and published in October 2025.
