James Thomson is a former Amazon executive, entrepreneur, investor, author, and board member with extensive experience in ecommerce and online marketplaces.

At Amazon, he led Amazon Services and served as the company’s first Fulfillment by Amazon account manager. He later co-founded Buy Box Experts, an ecommerce consulting firm. He also co-founded The Prosper Show, a continuing education conference for ecommerce sellers.

He is the author of "The Amazon Marketplace Dilemma" and "Controlling Your Brand in the Age of Amazon". His writing examines marketplace strategy, channel control, brand management, and the economic challenges companies face when selling through Amazon and other online marketplaces.

His career has also included board, investment, and operating roles across ecommerce, marketplace technology, logistics, and related businesses.
