James M. Corkill is an award winning science fiction and technothriller author originally from Washington State, USA. A retired veteran, electronic technician, and Federal Firefighter, he spent more than thirty two years in public service before a serious line of duty injury ended his career. He began writing in 1997 and was fortunate to meet legendary horror writer Hugh B. Cave, who became his mentor and inspired his passion for suspense driven storytelling. In 2002, Corkill rushed to self publish his first novel, Dead Energy, so his wife could see his dream fulfilled before losing her battle with cancer. After her passing, he stopped writing for years until a chance encounter with a reader in 2013 inspired him to begin again. That moment led to the creation of the bestselling Alex Cave Series. Today, Corkill is a three time Best Indie Book Award winner, a Readers’ Favorite Book Award winner, and a two time Shelf Unbound notable indie author. His fast paced novels blend science fiction, alien technology, global catastrophe, time travel, and high stakes suspense.
