I'm a fortunate American who served in the US Navy for 25+ years. I was part of a small crew who punished the enemies of decency on a regular basis. I was wounded in a gunfight in 2009 and struggled mightily afterwards. I learned about caring for others through the example shown to me in my recovery process. It is my desire to be an asset to those around me. Those who are struggling and those who aren't but could help those who need it. My family, friends and complete strangers helped me get where I am today. I run a non-profit, Spike's K9 Fund and I give speeches to corporate, military, veteran and first responder groups.
It's time we stop marketing "mental health" and just do what others did for me, step in and help each other out.
