James E. Purcell is a British author of horror. While his published work so far focuses primarily on horror, he is currently exploring science fiction for future projects. He is best known for Undead England, a planned series of apocalyptic horror novels. The first in the series, Undead England: Stoke-On-Trent, is available now, with the follow-up, Undead England: Stoke Falls, coming soon. Born in the Staffordshire village Penkridge and now living in Stoke-on-Trent, James developed a love of horror at a young age, inspired by the legendary films of George A. Romero, TV adaptations of Stephen King's works and the novels of the late James Herbert. His writing blends classic horror atmosphere with modern grit, delivering stories that are both unsettling and grounded in the real world. Outside of writing, James enjoys keeping fit, spending time as a family man and making music with his band, Glass Ghosts.
