James D. Dean is the author of the This Dying World series, and has appeared in several anthologies over the years. He was born in Chicago, where he penned his first short story in 3rd grade…which would have sent any editor into a coma. He can now be found lurking around the Chicago burbs with his wife and two children. With over 20 years of experience in electronics technology, he currently works as a Field Engineer to pay the bills. When he’s not working or, more importantly, writing, he’s an avid reader, video game enthusiast, BBQ fanatic, anime lover, sometimes dog wrangler, and general comic relief for the family.
