I am a passionate military and history writer whose love for the past was kindled by family stories. One grandfather endured four years as a prisoner of war in Poland during World War 2, while my great-grandfather fought at the Somme in World War 1 — a legacy that ignited a lifelong fascination with courage, conflict, and the human spirit in wartime. In 2024, after receiving a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer, I turned to writing with newfound purpose. The act of storytelling has become a welcome distraction for me! As of July 2025, I've completed 34 cycles of fortnightly chemotherapy, a treatment that continues — but so does my writing, undeterred and determined. Whether I'm exploring the battles of World War II, the legends of Greek mythology, the intrigue of Roman emperors, or the ambition of Alexander the Great, I write to inspire curiosity in readers, both young and old, and make history come alive through engaging stories, real voices, and unforgettable facts, I live in the Cotswolds with my wife, my two children, and two lovely black Labradors. When not writing or reading, you’ll likely find me wandering the hills dreaming up my next journey into the past.
