James Allan Krause, PhD is an award-winning Canadian writer, songwriter, playwright, researcher and retired professor. A third generation author, his family has lived in Canada for over 200 years. Krause has written six books. Three are on the topic of Vancouver Island history. A trilogy of audiobooks with original music is his current passion. "Wetion", (2nd edn) historical fiction based on fact, was published in 2025. "The Pilot and the Parrot" (2026) is contemporary fiction and "The Gardens of Venus" (2027) science fiction. Wetion (2nd edn) received nine Outstanding Creator Book Awards in 2025, including first prize for Historical Fiction. Two second place awards were received for Science Fiction and Education and Reference Books. A third place honor was given for the Audiobooks category. Five honorable mentions for Best Research, Best World Building, Best Character, Best Narrated and Best Quote/ Best Passage were also awarded. Krause has completed three degree programs in Europe, Canada and the USA and taught at accredited American and Canadian universities.
