JL Lycette is an author of medical thrillers known for their heartfelt storytelling and unflinching examination of timely themes. Her debut novel, ‘The Algorithm Will See You Now,’ was a Finalist in the 2023 ScreenCraft Cinematic Book Competition and 2024 Indie Author Network Book of the Year Awards, and was named a Kirkus Reviews ‘Indies Worth Discovering’ and a ‘Best Medical Thriller of the 21st Century’ by Best Thrillers. Her sophomore novel, ‘The Committee Will Kill You Now,’ was a 2025 Indie Reader Discovery Award Winner (Socially Conscious Fiction category) and a Recommended Read by International Thriller Writers’ publication, The Big Thrill (Nov 2023). She holds a Medical Degree from the University of Washington. When she’s not writing or with patients, JL enjoys spending time with her family, meandering through Pacific Northwest forests with her dogs, reading avidly, and playing the piano. She is currently working on her next novel, a speculative, “medically adjacent” thriller.
