When I was a young boy, my mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness. By the time I graduated high school, I was the only one left who was able to become her care taker full time. During that time, I found my release from the stressful reality of caring for a terminal parent through writing. When she passed in 2018, utterly overwhelmed and entirely exhausted, my work on these stories became my meaning for life. The only passion that fulfilled and urged me to keep going, to see it through to the end. My passion for writing comes from the experience of needing a solace from a darker reality, an escape that we can all enjoy. Something that can give us meaning, a reason to continue on. To inspire us to reach for our higher selves, and to see the darkness through. In truth, I write for the people who need that place to go. I write for the person who faces life every day and resolves themselves to being the survivor, not the victim, in their own story.
