J. Dursky is an independent science fiction, fantasy, and LitRPG author who believes the best stories don't just entertain readers, they invite them to become part of the adventure.

With a degree in Sociology from William Penn University, he brings a fascination with human behavior, complex relationships, and impossible decisions into the worlds he creates. His storytelling blends action, humor, suspense, and immersive worldbuilding with one defining philosophy: give readers the freedom to imagine, explore, and choose their own paths.

His debut series, Fallen, launched in 2015 and evolved into a 10-book interactive science fiction adventure featuring branching storylines, consequential decisions, and multiple endings. In 2023, he expanded his catalog with Stricken from History, a standalone thriller that challenges everything we think we know about humanity's past.

His latest creation, Veilbound, takes interactive fiction into LitRPG territory, combining epic fantasy, character progression, tabletop-inspired mechanics, and player-driven storytelling. Featuring optional mini-game side quests, multiple interconnected character journeys, dice rolls, coin flips, and stat-based encounters. Veilbound allows readers to experience the adventure rather than simply observe it.

Beyond writing, Joey is a musician (2025 CityView Best Local Band), artist, inventor, athlete (2023 Iowa Games Athlete of the Year), and lifelong gamer who rarely encounters a creative idea he doesn't want to explore. When he's not building fictional worlds, he's performing as a lead vocalist, designing games, or spending time with his wife and dogs in Iowa.

His stories exist somewhere between possibility and insanity, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
