Isobel Mahon is an Irish author, actor and also carries on a practice as an integrative psychotherapist. The Meet Cute is her first novel for Embla/ Bonnier books. having previously published a novel, Learning To Fly. She began her career In Trinity College Dublin with a degree in philosophy and English literature then began working as an actress for stage and TV. She was awarded Best Newcomer to the Irish Theatre that year and went on to work in the RTE soap, Glenroe for sixteen years playing the barmaid, Michelle. She has written six plays, including for BBC Radio 4 and her show PARTY FACE, which ran off-Broadway for four months and in Ireland concurrently. She also was a regular scriptwriter on the RTE TV soap, FAIR City for three years. She has also worked as a TV agony aunt on the Today Show for RTE and appeared as Paul Mescal's Mammy in a sausage ad just before he became famous (although the two things are clearly linked!!) She has also practiced Buddhism with the SGI for many years. Some of Isobel's great joys are sipping coffee while looking out the window or dancing with her dog, Muffin to old Eurovision hits. She lives in Dublin with her partner, Mark, daughter, Jessica and Muffin the dog.
