Isac Weld writes fiction for readers who like their fantasy loaded with iron filings and cordite smoke. The Vharkon Saga is Industrial Grimdark: a world where magic is measured in pressure and heat, where the price of survival is paid in blood, and where no one, protagonist included, gets to stay clean.

The saga opens with The Weight of Iron, a novella that introduces the Keepers and the world of Vharkon, and continues in Number Seven, a prequel that pulls back the curtain on where it all began. The first full novel, The Ashes of Oakhaven, arrives this December, expanding the war between the Keepers and the Void Keepers into something far larger and far bloodier.

Weld's stories are built around morally gray characters, sectors choked in soot, and a Synchron that never asks permission before it takes something from you. No clean heroes. No easy endings. Just the sound of iron against iron, and the choice every character eventually has to make: choose iron, or choose ash.
