Isabelle (Izzy) Broom began writing stories at the age of six. By that point, she was also a proficient escape artist and could regularly be found slithering through her mother’s arms in a department store or clambering through windows. When she couldn’t physically get away, she turned instead to books, each chapter a new door through which she explored the world.

Isabelle later realised she could combine all three pursuits and became an author of escapist fiction, writing critically acclaimed stories about people, family, history and love in all its forms. She has since won several awards, had her short story The Wedding Speech turned into a film, and been published into 16 overseas markets.

Based in Suffolk, England, Isabelle travels widely in search of inspiration – a quest that led her to the small Greek island of Folegandros, where her most recent novels are set. When she’s not writing, Isabelle works as an editor and mentor, stares adoringly at her unruly dog and continues to scale the mountain that her to-be-read pile has become.
