Hillary Chollet MD has been a Trauma and Vascular Surgeon for the past 30 years. His great grandfather was a Harvard trained professor from Switzerland and his great grandmother was the daughter of a slave raised in the 9th Ward of New Orleans. With more than a little Cajun in him, Dr. Chollet has been a staunch protector for the patient in distress: 'the joy of medicine is that we treat everyone the same'. He is a protector of the 'underdog'--sometimes to his own detriment. Dr. Chollet was a first responder at 9/11, and found himself at ground zero 15 minutes after the second tower fell. A chance encounter changed his life. " I had to learn to give more comfort". When asked to describe his style: 'I first see the story as a movie in my mind. As the observer of this movie, I switch from 1st person to 3rd person omniscient. My mind relaxes and in an awake--quiet eyes way, the story unfolds'.
