The DCI Greg Geldard Norfolk Mystery Series Dark secrets. Quiet landscapes. Relentless justice. Set against the haunting beauty of the Norfolk coast and countryside, Heather Peck’s multi-award-winning DCI Greg Geldard series delivers gripping, character-driven crime thrillers where nothing is ever as peaceful as it seems. From ritual burials and organised crime to modern slavery, arson, and cold-blooded murder, DCI Greg Geldard faces cases that challenge both his courage and his conscience. Balancing personal turmoil with professional duty, Geldard’s investigations uncover the moral complexity behind every crime—and the hidden darkness that can lie beneath an ordinary life. Perfect for readers who love the intelligent suspense of Elly Griffiths and the atmospheric tension of L. J. Ross, this series combines authentic policing, richly drawn settings, and deeply human characters with page-turning plots that linger long after the final chapter. Winner of multiple honours, including the PageTurner Book Award for Best Crime Novel (2024), in DCI Greg Geldard, Heather Peck has created a deeply authentic, warm and intelligent character, driven both by a fierce commitment to justice and a strong loyalty to his family and colleagues. This series has earned its place among the finest of contemporary British crime fiction. 📖 Start the journey today — and discover why readers can’t get enough of DCI Greg Geldard. In addition to the Geldard series, Heather has also written a stand-alone thriller, 'Milestones' (which won the Page Turner Award 2024 for best book in the crime genre) and three books for children who love animals. As she says, “Writing and reading have always held a special place in my life. I was the child who was sent to friends' parties with the twin instructions 'Don't forget to thank your hostess. And don't pick up a book and start reading!' But for a long time the other love of my life - animals - took priority. My first career was in animal welfare and farming. I have been both farmer and agricultural policy adviser. I bred dogs, sheep and alpacas, raised calves, negotiated on behalf of the UK in international forums, specialised in emergency response, and even got paid to eat KitKats while on secondment to Nestle Rowntree. Following early retirement, I chaired an NHS Trust, was a volunteer Covid vaccinator, worked on animal welfare initiatives and sailed the Norfolk Broads, before taking a course in crime writing offered by the National Centre for Writing in collaboration with the University of East Anglia. So I've ended up back where I started, with books: proving the truth of my grandmother's maxim that 'You can do anything, if you try hard enough.' I live in Norfolk, nestled between the picturesque Broads and the stunning coastline. My partner, Gary, and I share our home with two dogs and two cats. Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy delving into the worlds I've created within the pages of my books.
