Welcome to my author page. I am Harry Hoover, a self-improvement author, writer-for-hire, and speaker. I've been a radio and newspaper journalist, covering cops and courts, a daily call-in talk show host, served as a columnist and managing editor, as well as a color commentator for UNCC basketball. Most recently, I owned an ad agency, which I sold to my business partner in 2015 so I could devote more time to writing. ********************* Self-Improvement Books ********************* Although my first book is called Moving To Charlotte: The Un-Tourist Guide, I consider it a self-improvement book, too. Our town offers great jobs, superb outdoor recreational opportunities, varied housing options, as well as interesting urban and suburban neighborhoods. A move here is a step toward self-improvement. Born Creative: Free Your Mind, Free Yourself is my second book. This book helps you learn how to free your mind from societal influences so you can plan the life you desire. Get Glad: Your Practical Guide To A Happier Life helps you understand why you aren't happy and provides highly actionable ideas on how to get happier a little at a time. My latest book is The Dad's Book of Jokes: Dad Jokes, Bad Jokes, Groaners & One-Liners. This book is for Dads and kids everywhere who love bad jokes, dad jokes, groaners, and one-liners.
