Having been born in Valdosta, Georgia and raised in Southern California, I am now living in New Hampshire. You could say I have been all over the map. Jeannette and I have raised and home schooled five kids and now have twenty-six grandkids who are a joy and blessing. I just published -- 'Christmas Candles' on November 15,2020. It's a collection of short stories that has been a goal of mine for many years. Christmas is the time for celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus and these stories give glory to Him. My first book, 'The Box of Secrets', accurately reveals how George Washington paid spies out of his own pocket. Espionage began to come of age with the Culper Spy ring of Long Island. 'The Box of Secrets' is unique in blending colonial history with a modern day narrative. The historical portion is faithful to the events and the characters who lived them. Today's reader will grasp the conflicting issues which the American colonies struggled against Britain for. Greta and Gramps bring fresh eyes to this international conflict, and the reader will appreciate their relationship. Young and old will enjoy this tale. In my youth I fell in love with the classics. Of particular interest was Ivanhoe and Pride and Prejudice. When my children were still children I read to them stories by Louisa May Alcott, L.M. Montgomery, and Laura Engalls Wilder. My grandkids from time to time come to me with the simple request that I tell them a story and I try to oblige. As the inevitability of time presses itself on I feel the need to apply fingers to keyboard to record something which may be of benefit to others.
