Gregory Shepard is The Startup Architect, a serial founder, investor, published writer, and speaker who has spent three-plus decades translating what makes companies scale into structural systems founders can actually use. His core thesis: founders don't fail from lack of effort. They fail operating within systems they cannot see.

He is a Fulbright Scholar, co-founder of the Fulbright Entrepreneurship Initiative, a speaker at the United Nations, and one of MSN's Top 10 Visionaries in Entrepreneurship. His acquisition of AffiliateTraction by eBay Enterprise Marketing Solutions was a 925 million dollar cross-border transaction that earned 4 Private Equity / M&A Advisor awards in the 250 million to 1 billion dollar category, including Private Equity Deal of the Year and Technology Deal of the Year. He went on to serve as Chief Strategy Officer at eBay Enterprise Marketing Solutions, where he led affiliate-marketing industry consolidation. He later sold AdAssured to Pepperjam and served as Chief Technology Officer.

Across his career, Shepard has founded 13 tech companies, sold 12, and invested in 8 startups (4 successful exits, 4 active). He is the creator of the Startup Lifecycle and Startup Architecture frameworks, built from a 5-year global research initiative involving thousands of founders, investors, accelerators, universities, and advisors.

As a published writer, Shepard wrote The Startup Lifecycle (BenBella). He is a ForbesBooks-published writer and Forbes contributor with 100+ articles in Forbes, Fortune, Entrepreneur, Thrive Global, US News, NY Observer, and The DEAL.

He hosts Forbes Radio's Meet the BOSS podcast and has been featured on 100+ podcasts, including those of Oren Klaff, Ken Blanchard, David Allen, and David Covey, with national TV and radio appearances. His speaking stages include TEDx (2020), the United Nations, the Angel Capital Association, the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers, and the Collegiate Entrepreneurs' Organization.

Recognized with the World of Difference Award, Shepard champions Altruistic Capitalism, entrepreneurship as a force for good, and is an outspoken advocate for neurodivergent, disabled, and underserved founders. He lives openly with seven neurodivergent conditions, including autism and dyslexia, and is entirely self-taught.
