Gregory K Cherven was born in Buffalo, N.Y. in 1969. He grew up in St. Petersburg, FL. and joined the United States Marine Corps at age 20. He served in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He then married and moved to Sweden where he has four daughters and three grandchildren. Greg later moved back to Florida and became a Deputy Sheriff for the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Florida. He served as a Patrol Deputy, Traffic Homicide Investigator, and a Special Victims Detective. Greg was also a Crisis/Hostage Negotiator. Greg battled for years with depression and thoughts of suicide. He was later diagnosed with PTSD. Greg continued his education and earned a B.S. in Ministerial Leadership from Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL. Greg is currently working on his M.A. in Christian Apologetics from Liberty University. Greg serves as a Deacon in his local church and as the leader of the military ministry and the first responders ministry. Greg is passionate about reducing the suicide rate within the military, veteran, and first responder communities.
