Greg Brooking is an award-winning historian and a high school history teacher at North Springs High School in Fulton County, Georgia. He earned his PhD at Georgia State University. His first book, From Empire to Revolution: Sir James Wright and the Price of Loyalty in Georgia, is the only biography of Georgia's most important colonial-era governor. It won the 2025 Award for Excellence in Documenting Georgia's History by the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Council. It explores the complex interplay of power in colonial and revolutionary Georgia. He is currently working on a biography of South Carolina's Henry Laurens.
