Graham Brooke writes character-driven fiction rooted in blue-collar life, family chaos, and small-town survival. Drawing from lived experience, his stories blend dark humor with grit and quiet tenderness, capturing people who work hard, argue louder than they listen, and love each other in ways that aren’t always graceful. Set largely in Atlantic Canada, his writing focuses on ordinary lives shaped by stubborn loyalty, bad decisions made with good intentions, and the long consequences of family ties that can’t be cut clean. Brooke’s work is known for its honest voice, lived-in detail, and refusal to romanticize hardship while still finding heart inside it. The Crimers: In-Laws or Outlaws is his debut novel, a slow-burn family saga inspired by real events. He is also the editor and transcriber of Bunny’s Poems, a multigenerational family collection preserving the handwritten poetry of his grandmother. Graham Brooke lives in Atlantic Canada, where stories are traded as often as favors and families never really stop showing up. When he’s not writing, he’s behind the wheel of a big rig, steering, gearing, and grinding through the thoughts that shape his stories, where he does his clearest thinking. He is currently working on the Colonial City Towing series.
