I'm a Distinguished Professor and the Lawrence A. Jegen III Professor at the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. I've written six books on constitutional law and history. In 2026, I received a Guggenheim Fellowship for next book, which will about Birch Bayh's Senate Subcommittee on Constitutional Amendments. My 2022 biography of Bushrod Washington won the Erwin N. Griswold Prize from the Supreme Court Historical Society, and a talk on that book at the Court can be found on C-Span's Book TV.
