Georgette Baker has been producing CD's and books of traditional songs and fingerplays from Spanish speaking countries. She has recently branched out with her new collection, the "We're Off..." series These are bilingual books of photographs and information which includes We're Off...to the Galapagos, We're Off...to Kenya, "We're Off...to The Great Barrier Reef-Australia and We're Off...to the Galapagos-Ecuador. Her fisrst chapter book, Andy and the Gold Mine is a non-fiction story of a 10 year old's adventure in the gold mines at Randsburg, CA. Georgette has traveled all over the world and speaks five languages. She believes that language learning can be accomplished through song and simple bilingual books of topics that interest young people. A certified teacher and speaker of five languages herself, Georgette encourages parents to expose their children to other cultures and places.
