Geoff Francis is a published author, poet and lyricist. He is also a full-time artist, photographer and film-maker and Creative Director of Bonobo TV, a not for profit internet TV channel that celebrates respect for the planet and all those who share it. He is also the co-founder of the environmental charity No More Dodos, which uses art and sport to raise awareness of environmental concerns. Geoff's written output includes long-form poetry, poetry with images, dystopian novels, a Young Adult novel, an authorised biography and a celebrity cook-book. Many of his books were inspired his vegan and environmental concerns. Two use the backdrop of football in order to convey ideas on positive role models, racism and hooliganism, leading to an endorsement by the United Nations Department for Sport and Peace. 'When I was seven years old, I was asked, “What are you going to be?” I replied, “I am going to be an artist or I am going to be Stanley Matthews”. In those days the slightest prowess with a ball earned the accolade, “Hey, Stanley Matthews!” The comparison made many a young boy feel proud. 'Eventually, I have become recognised as an artist and this, in turn, has allowed me to fulfil the other part of my naive prediction. I have written a script which has allowed me to engage with, and give a voice to, the life of Stanley Matthews.'
