I have co-authored (with AI), edited, and published several books and Facebook pages under the pen name Garrick Austin, including two acclaimed books: AI for Beginners: Unlocking the Future with Artificial Intelligence and AI for Self-Improvement: Enhancing Your Life with Artificial Intelligence.
Previously, I wrote Endearing Paws: The Ultimate Toy Poodle Owner’s Manual and, more recently, Karaoke Unleashed: Mastering the Art and Science of Sing-Along Entertainment” and “Echoes of the Heart: Music, Emotion, and the Human Experience: Finding Ourselves and Others Through the Power of Music“—all with the aid of AI. These projects reflect my ability to blend technology with personal passions, making complex topics accessible and engaging.
Since childhood, music has been a constant in my life. After discovering karaoke (thanks, Jeff!), I quickly became immersed in both the art and the science behind it. By early 2020, I had acquired my own karaoke player and creation software. Today, I leverage AI to refine the process of making karaoke tracks, while sharing insights about the transformative power of music—especially through singing karaoke.
My perspective is shaped by my background. Military training in analog and digital electronics laid the foundation for a successful career in electronics and computer systems engineering. An early retirement allowed me to pursue my greatest passions—music, photography, neurology, artificial intelligence, Bible education, and, most recently, karaoke.
Driven by curiosity about the human mind, I pursued and earned two Master Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner certifications (thanks, Jim!). I have used this training as a registered Coach and Counselor, helping others benefit from NLP processes for personal change and growth. More recently, I’ve shared Bible-based insights using NLP-inspired storytelling on Facebook, guiding people toward meaningful change.
Throughout my most recent journey, I have remained dedicated to understanding and harnessing AI to empower others. My AI work spans diverse fields, from personalized learning and mental well-being to creative outlets like photography, music, and writing.
For example, in a recent book, Echoes of the Heart: Music, Emotion, and the Human Experience, I combine technical knowledge with my passion for music to explore how songs shape our emotions, relationships, and self-understanding.
As a student of AI, music, and karaoke, I strive to stay ahead of technological advancements, believing that asking the right questions and engaging thoughtfully with innovation unlocks more of our potential.
In my recently begun photo book series, "Whispering Light: My Journey……." readers can journey through the visual storytelling of the many moods of the national park system and explore the less seen—the small flowers clinging to rock faces, eagles flying high over distant peaks and valleys, creatures tucked away in the landscape, and even the unexpected—like a mysterious little figure resting on a sunlit boulder beneath a rainbow or a buffalo sticking out its tongue at the camera.
Ultimately, my dedication to learning, creativity, and sharing knowledge is at the heart of everything I do. My hope is that my work serves as a trusted guide for those eager to explore the intersections of technology, creativity, and personal growth.
