Galand Nuchols retired from teaching after twenty-two years in the classroom when she discovered the thrill of creating characters and stories for her students. Dragons for Kris and Dragon Hatchling were her first two novels. A museum addict, Ms. Nuchols was moved to write Second Chance and Leroy's Chance when she visited the Kilgore Oil Museum in Kilgore, Texas. The two novels are set in Kilgore, Texas just as Dad Joiner discovered the huge lake of oil beneath the drought stricken land. This author loves short stories and collected some of her favorites in an anthology titled Where Did That Come From? A few sentences at the end of each story tells where the idea for the story came from before it was blown up into a fictional story enjoyed by readers of every age. Galand Nuchols enjoys visiting children and adults in classrooms, book signings and wherever a group gathers to hear one of her tales.
