Gail Emma Scott’s love for storytelling began in her twenties, when she wrote several novels but did not submit them for publishing. It wasn’t until 2025, when she was 63, that she finally shared her stories with the world, proving that creativity and passion have no age limits. Born in Ohio and raised in Austin, Texas, Gail grew up during significant social change, experiencing firsthand the challenges of school integration in the early 1970s. Her family later moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she graduated from The Blake School before earning a bachelor’s degree from Brown University and a master’s degree from Columbia University’s School of Journalism. Gail’s adventurous spirit took her across Europe, including a memorable period living in Budapest, Hungary, behind the Iron Curtain in 1983. After marrying, she settled in North Carolina, where she raised three children, before moving to Portland, Oregon, where she currently lives. In Portland, Gail worked as a communications manager while exploring her love for remodeling old homes and running a property management company, all while nurturing her creative side. Today, she has returned to her first passion, writing, bringing a lifetime of experiences, insight, and imagination to her novels.
