Her memoir, I Could Live Here: A Travel Memoir of Home and Belonging, grew from decades of traveling the world and a life increasingly lived beyond the boundaries of any single place. For many years, Ellen worked as a travel writer and photographer, drawn as much to the people she met as to the places she visited.

Today, she divides her time between the United States and extended stays abroad, writing about the complicated, often surprising ways we find home—in places, in relationships, and in ourselves.
