El Piper, originally named Percy L. Harris, has led a diverse and eventful life. In 1995, he established Americans With African Roots Empowered Incorporated, an organization that enhanced and supported cultural identity. Over the years, he has worked in many fields, serving in the Navy on nuclear submarines, teaching and guiding as an instructor, and building a career as an entrepreneur, engineer, project manager, and financial advisor. He later added roles like stockbroker, mortgage broker, commercial property appraiser, insurance broker, and civil servant to his journey. He is retired today, but his passion for learning, teaching, and inspiring others continues through his books and spiritual mission. El Piper shares that his life took a deeper turn when he felt a divine calling. He believes he was chosen to connect with the voices of his ancestors, souls who were restless and often forgotten, and to carry their stories into the present. Through this calling, he sees himself as a messenger, sharing words that offer hope, healing, and a reminder of faith. His guiding scripture comes from Matthew 22:14: “For many are invited, but few are chosen.” In addition to his life experience, El Piper holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from New Mexico State University and earned financial service certifications while studying in London, England. His journey is one of faith, purpose, and dedication; he continues honoring his ancestors and his Creator through his writing.
