Eileen Forrestal is a retired Medical Doctor, Co-founder and CEO of Get Up and Go Publications Ltd. In her role as CVO (Chief Visionary Officer) at Shine Your Light Coaching and Consulting, Eileen emerged from the shadows as author of the Courage To Shine - Find Your Voice and Discover the Healing Power of Your Words. Having spent years in the background, both in her medical career (as an Anaesthesiologist) and then in growing her Independent Publishing business, with the release of her memoir, Eileen has now come out into the spotlight. She shares a message of the power of words - and authentic self expression - as access to healing personal suffering, through powerful, courageous and meaningful conversations. Having suffered with a stutter for most of her young life, Eileen was determined to hide her own voice, reluctant to speak up for fear of being embarrassed, mocked, or pitied as a ‘stammerer’. Her speech impediment was the result of an accidental Aspirin overdose, necessitating a stomach washout, aged three-and-a-half. "I suffered the pain of self - suppression, a self-imposed prison of silence and a feeling of profound failure". After a long and outwardly successful career where she put others to sleep (the irony is not lost on her!) she is now happily at work ‘waking people up’ to the potential, responsibility and joy of their own self-expression, trusting the power of words to heal the past and build new relationships, positively impacting their happiness and personal wellbeing". Openly expressing her love for her mother, after years of internal resentment, was her turning point. As CEO of Get Up and Go Publications Ltd, Eileen now uses her inspirational diaries and journals to amplify her message to encourage others to 'get up and go' and confidently take action to shine in their own light and fulfil on their dreams in the world.
