I retired as highly decorated police lieutenant after 24 years of service with a southwestern suburban Chicago police department. Some of the accolades I've received during my tenure were: 2002 National Association of Police Organizations National Police Officer of the Year, receiving my award in NYC on 9/11/2002, The Hundred Club of Cook County Valor Award, Chicago Crime Commission “Star of Distinction” Award, Emerald Society Police Officer of the Year, Lions Club Police Officer of the Year, Police Officer’s “Blue Star” Award and many more. I have also appeared on A&E’s “Cold Case Files”, and was featured on “America’s Most Wanted”. I began serious writing in 2001 while recovering from severe injuries sustained during a hostage/barricade negotiation. My writings include novelette, “A Tear Drop for Rose” (10/2017-Amazon.com/Kindle). "The Puzzle Pro's: A Detective Story" (11/2017-Amazon.com/Kindle). Short stories, two of which have been published in the national best selling “True Blue: Police Stories by Those Who Have Lived Them” (St. Martin’s Press/2004) and “True Blue: To Protect and Serve” (St. Martin’s press/2008). I have also been nationally published in several police magazines including American Police Beat and 911 Communications.
