Ellen Edwards Kennedy grew up in Miss Prentice's region of far northern New York State and lived with her husband and children across the American South and West. She is the author of four Miss Prentice cozy mysteries: IRREGARDLESS OF MURDER, DEATH DANGLES A PARTICIPLE, MURDER IN THE PAST TENSE and INCOMPLETE SENTENCE, which won a Firebird Book Award in 2020. Her most recent publication is a picture book, WALK WITH A STRANGER, based on the lesser-known Emmaus Walk story in the Bible. It's geared to youngsters age 10+ and adults. Her website, missprenticecozymystery.com, is filled with lively articles and stories about the characters and the region in her mysteries, as well as movie reviews, household and beauty tips and even a regional recipe! A newly-published blog, THE SAME BRITCHES, is named for her favorite saying, "You can just get glad in the same britches you got mad in." She is the founder of NC Scribes, a weekly Zoom group of Christian authors. Their anthology, 911, THAT BEAUTIFUL, BROKEN DAY, won a silver medal from the Military Writers of America in 2022. She has had three stories published in CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL books. She and her husband live in North Carolina, are born-again Christians, and the happy, blessed grandparents of five teenage answers to prayer.
