Dr. Sowards has a Master of Science and a Doctorate of Philosophy. Dr. Sowards is a local law enforcement professional who has served his community for more than 23 years. He is a use-of-force expert and teaches both in-service and instructor levels of use-of-force and defensive tactic techniques. Dr. Sowards is currently overseeing the training of new academy students in his current position. Dr. Sowards has also been teaching in secondary academic institutions since 2006. Dr. Sowards mentors students and advises them relative to their desired careers. Dr. Sowards has been retained as an expert in Juvenile Institutions and use-of-force cases. Dr. Sowards in his free time currently coaches football at a local high school and has coached other recreation sports. Dr. Sowards has two children and has been married since 2003. Dr. Sowards has a passion for fitness, sports, law enforcement, and his relationships with his children and spouse.
