Peter Salerno, PsyD, LMFT, is a licensed psychotherapist (retired) and award-winning author. He holds a Doctor of Psychology degree (PsyD), a Master of Science degree (MS) in Clinical Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Literature. Dr. Salerno has earned specialized certifications in trauma treatment and personality disorder treatment throughout his career and has treated mental health conditions in a variety of clinical settings. He has authored six books on a broad number of topics, including stress and trauma, early development and attachment, mind-body integration, emotion and cognition, personality pathology, and philosophy. His book, "Fit For Off Duty" has been required reading for law enforcement officers at the FBI Academy, which is the Federal Bureau of Investigation's training and research center for FBI agents in Quantico, Virginia. Dr. Salerno currently consults internationally for educational purposes.
