Donna Shin-Ward, MS, LCPC, is a licensed Clinical Pastoral Psychotherapist and certified Holistic Wellness Coach specializing in grief, trauma, and helping those who have experienced narcissistic, sociopathic, and psychopathic emotional abuse transcend and transform their experience. In her first book, her own inspirational memoir, readers will be infused with their own energy of possibility to stand up to their own internal accusers and real-life abusers. Through creative narrative and reflection, as mirrored in the universal experience of many people today, she implores readers to rise and embrace vibrant health and wholeness by speaking their hard truth to themselves first and surrendering to the awakenings that come. Donna believes people are searching for answers on how to really heal, hold, and live with life's unexpected traumas and hurts. Everyone has a story, and we can learn from one another's shared experiences. She understands that despite our varying storylines, we share collective narratives around love, loss, grief, trauma, and spirituality. She tells us that in order to reach the enlightened present moment we must first go into the darkness of grief and create a friendship with both. Donna is certified in the internationally used and rapidly growing brain/body physiological trauma therapy known as Brainspotting, which brings psychological benefits. Her professional therapeutic work informs her that the deeper trauma must be addressed to heal the pain of collective and generational truama. Donna is passionate about the work she does and often shares her deep faith and spiritual lessons as a modern-day mystic to enhance the healing and wholeness of those she serves. She has a thriving private practice in Towson, Maryland, and a growing social media platform. Her own heart-wrenching and heart-expanding experiences ignited her to create her Soul of Healing groups, a program meeting the needs of women in various stages of recovery from emotional abuse. Donna lives with her husband, Jay, and their puppy, Sophie, who loves to spend time with her four young grandchildren when they visit. Donna will tell you that her biggest accomplishment in life has been to raise her three wise daughters to be so close and connected to each other. They are truly her favorite people.
