I am Donna Mae Smith, born Donna Mae Grigelis. Growing up on Mobjack Bay in Virginia, I was often barefoot carrying a bamboo-fishing pole. My father followed his Uncle Corbitt from West Virginia to Virginia’s grand James River oyster beds. Daddy learned and worked hard in the rivers while Mom took care of the home front. It was a great decision, for we prospered. After leaving the area for many years, I returned to Virginia and the country road where I spent my youth. I have enjoyed much of my family being close by. I enjoy Virginia's colonial history and the beautiful beaches. I started writing when I was nine or ten years old. In recent years, I realized I have a cabinet full of works ready to be finished or written. It was a grand decision to return to my love of writing. I find myself writing what I know a little about. Kitty Born at Sea: A Kitty Adventure #1 is my first release. NIGHT VARMINTS: A Kitty Adventure #2 is my second. I am working hard on the next! Thank you for reading my books.
