October 2025 update...
Great News for fans… INVASION EARTH, in eBook format, is now available in a second edition, with much more text and added images. The best part… It’s still FREE on Amazon.
Three years ago, Don Vodka had watched all the top sci-fi and time travel movies, but still hungered for more. She decided to write her own story, and that became INVASION EARTH, which led to what is now an 18-book ALIEN INVASION SERIES. Don wrote the novels so they read like movies, because that’s how she saw them in her mind. And how she wants them to end up… on the big screen. Or on TV, so you can hide under a blanket while watching them.
How would she characterize her writing style? In her own words, “Science fiction, of course, with a good dose of horror, lots of snarky humor, young people facing relationship issues, and always plot twists.”
As the series developed, it was split into several mini-series, all within the same overarching storyline, and all written as standalones. The first book, INVASION EARTH, became the origin story, and the next seven books take place 18 years later and are called THE DAZZLE SHELTON SERIES. Dazzle is the daughter of the woman who came to Earth in the origin story.
Jump ahead to 2068, and Dazzle’s daughter MISTY REMINGTON takes center stage. This sixteen-year-old meta-human has everything her mom had, only magnified many times over. The seven-book series, DARK DAYS – 2068, is darker than the previous books.
Wanting to take the story to a higher level, Don wrote a trilogy featuring Misty’s cousin, DAZETTE. In 2071, the ten-year-old girl and her two best friends watch as the aliens kill virtually everyone on Earth. They hide in the many underground bunkers that dot the Nevada desert, planning their revenge. Four years later, they are ready. The DAZETTE – DAUGHTER OF DARKNESS novels are three books that tell one long story, so they should be read in sequence.
Up next is a book, or perhaps a new mini-series, called BAT. It’s more horror than any of her previous works. Dazette is in it, since she’s very popular with readers. Don says the book is ‘dark, scary, and full of plot twists.’ Enjoy BAT, out December 8, 2025.
Don wanted to share a bit about herself here, in her own words.
“Hi, I’m Donnalee, and I call Nevada home. Sunrise may not be a real town, but I try to make it that way in my books. I put parts of myself into almost all my characters, but if you really want to know me, you should get a copy of Sterling ‘Silver’ Cartwright’s book called FOR THE TAKING. It’s my life, so far, in a nutshell. The first sixteen years. All the ups and downs. All the adventures. The bad times and the good.
One more thing… I’m NOT RUSSIAN. I support Ukraine, and can trace my roots back to Odessa, where my great-great-grandparents lived more than a hundred years ago.
Where do I get the inspiration for my books? Well, what if I told you I live in a small trailer home barely 25 miles from Area 51, aka Groom Lake, and that after a few shots of tequila, the aliens start buzzing overhead. Always. I also pick up on a lot of creepy rumors in some of the diners in the towns of Tonopah, Rachel, and even Alamo, Nevada. The ‘men in black’ like to talk, and right after I scoff down my burger, I speed home on my bike and write it into my next book.
Finally, a word of warning. Do NOT try to get into Area 51. It’s impossible. Except for me, of course. And keep watching the skies! Fox Mulder was onto something—and it wasn’t that stuff you can smoke. Or gummies.”
