Dimitri was born in 1951 in Birmingham, England. He has
been awarded no prizes for this, and none for literature. Raised
in a far-off colony in darkest Africa, then sent to school near
Liverpool, where notably he received a cup for boxing and had
his appendix removed. Eventually, he was allowed through a
hallowed portal somewhere in deepest Shropshire. There he
discovered Tradition. University in the North of England
followed. Here he learned of the joys of Sex, Drugs and Rock
’n’ Roll, as did all his friends. Leaving without a degree or
ambition, he wallowed in a world of rock music for many years,
discovered truck driving, travel, wine, food, acting and small
human creation – a hobby that produced four or five
