I worked closely with the late Ed Winter, the well-known LA County “Coroner to the Stars,” whose notable cases included the tragic deaths of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and many others. To ensure authenticity and depth in the narrative, I work with Dotti Owens, the renowned former Idaho coroner, and Lina Evans, Alabama’s current coroner, who is known for her unwavering pursuit of justice. I also work with a New York judge with decades of experience as a successful Deputy District Attorney, Dr. Wesley G. Jennings, one of the world's leading criminologists, and Dr. Ashley Wellman, a certified Forensic Death Investigator. A few years ago, writing as John Waters, I published Bonded Thru Injustice, a critically praised true crime book based on a real “smoking gun' case—the first federal death penalty case in Orange County, California. It was highly praised for its detailed investigation. I have brought the same meticulous research and compelling storytelling to this project.
