Deepika Menda, a B.Sc. and L.L.B. graduate, is the co-founder and former director of the JMD group of companies, in the business of corporate car leasing PAN India, and Skoda and Isuzu dealerships in Mumbai. Concerned about the burning social and environmental issues in her country, and her surroundings, she initiated a go-green drive in her locality, to instil civic sense and promote a sense of responsibility and community living in her area. Educating young, needy children was part of her curriculum and she did so with great earnestness and passion. However, she realised there was more to it than what meets the eye, and only deep understanding and realisation of the situation's intensity can help eradicate the problem. That is when her passion for writing got the better of her, and she put all her vibrant energies into penning down her first book – “And Then He Heard… The Mystic Call”.
