I was born in Cumberland, RI. I started writing stories as soon as I learned how to write. There were many influences in my life. My mother read to me every night sparking my imagination. I grew to love books, letting them take me to places I never thought I'd be able to go. Then came Star Trek and my love for science fiction grew. With facts intertwined with fiction I dreamt of places and people I longed to make real. In 1996, I found out I had a brain tumor. During the six month recovery period, I was not allowed to drive or solely care for my son. The recovery was slow and it gave me the time to think about things. Thinking about what could have happened, gave birth to Marcus. I wrote my first novel, Dark Night of the Soul while recovering. The strength my main character exhibits, is the strength I hoped to teach my son. Fully recovered I returned to work, putting the book aside. Moving back to Rhode Island I began working as a teachers assistant, not returning to my writing until retiring. I was a teachers assistant for many years and though I worked mostly in the first and second grades my time with the young adults attending high school taught me a lot. One of the best lessons I learned was how to listen. The recklessness of youth is one of the reasons they make them such good soldiers. It is they who fight for our freedoms, much as the main characters in Sister World do. I brought them to Earth to meet with the kinds of people I wish there were more of. People who listen. My love of fact also shows in my books as whether you're reading my horror series, Darkness and Light, or the Sister World Trilogy there are many facts that bring the story to life. Earth is a diverse world that gives us much food for our imaginations. After my first novel was published, I continued the series. Marcus had more to tell. I also completed the Sister World trilogy. At long last I'm a published author who is more than proud to say my book Sister World Return to Terah won second place in BookFest's 2024 award for science fiction. I have one other thing to say. It is never too late or too soon, to follow your dream.
