Dayan Kodua is an actress, voice artist, author, and founder of the Gratitude Publishing House. Born in Ghana and raised in Kiel from the age of ten, she speaks Twi as well as German and English fluently. After training as a business assistant, she studied acting in Berlin and Los Angeles and went on to pursue a successful career as an actress and voice artist.

She is passionately committed to empowerment and to increasing the visibility of Black people. In 2014 and 2022 she published the photo book My Black Skin: Black. Successful. German accompanied by an exhibition and workshops. With children’s books such as Odo and If My Hair Could Speak, she encourages children to discover their inner strength. In 2019 she founded the Gratitude Publishing House to give visibility to diverse stories. In addition, she is involved in various charity projects and in 2025 established Gratitude e.V. to promote art and literature. Dayan Kodua lives in Hamburg with her family.
