David Vox Mullen is a comedian, filmmaker, podcaster, producer, and entrepreneur from the Chicago area. Over the past three decades, he has built a career in music, comedy, television, podcasting, and independent media by creating opportunities instead of waiting for them. Originally known as the lead singer of the rock band Slipstream, David later transitioned into stand-up comedy, becoming a nationally touring performer and producer. He is the founder of Type 2 Comedy, co-founder of Under The L Productions, and so much more. His first book, GO BOOK YOURSELF: Nobody’s Coming to Save You — So Build Your Own Stage, shares the lessons, failures, and victories that taught him one simple truth: if the opportunity you’re waiting for doesn’t exist, build it yourself. He lives in Illinois with his wife and family.
