David Shrier is the author of multiple books and a globally recognised expert on technology-driven innovation. He holds an appointment with Imperial College London, where he is a Professor of Practice (AI & Innovation), Co-Director of the Trusted AI Alliance, and Academic DIrector of the Centre for Digital Transformation. David personally helped revolutionize how online classes are delivered by top universities like MIT and Oxford, creating the four most profitable online classes in history, and stimulating entrepreneurial action across more than 150 countries empowering over 20,000 entrepreneurs and corporate innovators. David also advises public companies, private enterprise, and more than 100 governments on creating ecosystems of new ventures in fields such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, and financial technology. David spends considerable time translating academic theory into business practice, having co-founded four AI-enabled spinouts from MIT, and advising multiple ‘unicorn’ technology companies on new business opportunities. He is also CEO of NYSE-listed SPAC, which announced its business combination with Griid Infrastructure, as well as Managing Director of venture studio Visionary Future. David has published eight books since 2016: Basic Metaverse (Little Brown, 2023), Global Fintech (MIT Press, 2022), Augmenting Your Career: How to Win at Work in the Age of AI (Little Brown, 2021), Basic Blockchain (Little Brown, 2020), Trusted Data (MIT Press), New Solutions for Cyber Security (MIT Press), Trust::Data, and Frontiers of Financial Technology. His next book is being published in 2024 in Europe as Basic AI (Little Brown) and Welcome to AI (Harvard Business Publishing).
