Dave Schneider lives in Vermont. He is a career medical writer who decided to free his imagination and become an author. The Snowy is his first book. He’s now working on the second in the The Snowy trilogy. Dave knows his subject. His passion is skiing. He raced on his university team, taught his three sons to ski, and coached junior athletes in the fundamentals of skiing and racing—with an emphasis on fun. Many of those boys and girls moved on to ski academies, then later to college teams and some to the US Ski Team. Dave is an Honorary Trustee of the Green Mountain Valley School, a ski racing and college preparatory academy in Vermont. The story of The Snowy began, he says, “…One day, after a blizzard, when some racers and I went up to ski the fresh powder. As our chairlift rose over the snow-laden trees, we wondered what it would be like if an alien creature was hiding down there. Why would it be there? How would it get there? Would we ever see it? Would it be friendly, or dangerous…?”
