Dave Cohen is a comedian, novelist, comedy writing teacher and multi-award-winning BBC comedy writer responsible for some of the best known songs from TV's Horrible Histories. As a comedian he was short-listed for the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Performer award and in 1985 co-founded the Comedy Store Players in London with Mike Myers and Paul Merton. Later he was lead singer with the world’s first Jewish Heavy Metal Band Guns’n’Moses. He became a full-time comedy writer in 1994 and since then has written for dozens of TV and radio shows. His latest podcast The Shakespeare Mindset is packedwith advice to help you improve your life the Bard way not the Hard Way. Stand Up, Barry Goldman and Barry Goldman: The Wilderness Years tell the fictionalised tale of British comedy and are basedloosely on Dave's early friendship with Rik Mayall. Barry Pulls It Off, the last in the trilogy will be published in NOVEMBER 2026. The third edition of Dave's extremely successful guide THE COMPLETE COMEDY WRITER is out in JANUARY 2027
